The Fall River Joint Unified School District (FRJUSD) Governing Board is establishing a 7-11 Surplus Property Advisory Committee to advise the Board on the potential use, disposition, or development of surplus district property or facilities. The committee serves in a non-binding, advisory capacity only. Application attached.

🎉 Celebrating Academic Excellence 🎉

Last Friday, we celebrated our students who earned Honor Roll with a 3.0 GPA and above, Straight A’s, and Perfect Attendance at our Academic Awards Assembly. Over half of our students earned a spot on the Honor Roll, which says so much about the hard work and commitment happening every day on our campus.

Following the assembly, students were invited to a pizza and ice cream party to celebrate their achievements. A huge thank you to the Burney Boosters for making this celebration possible.

The Boosters do more than support our athletic programs. They also invest in student academics and help us celebrate success in the classroom.

We are so proud of our students. Go Raiders! 💚💛

Jorden is a dedicated student-athlete and leader who has transformed from a shy student into a confident representative of his school. Jorden balances high academic standards with a commitment to community service. He is known for his accountability on the field and his excellence in the classroom, maintaining an impressive GPA while preparing for his postsecondary goals. Jorden’s journey of self-discovery and leadership reflects a young man with a clear vision and the discipline to achieve it.

Miles is a hardworking, well-behaved, and excellent student who consistently sets high standards for both his behavior and his success. He is polite, dependable, and respectful, and he balances his academics with involvement in athletics. Miles is the kind of student you can always count on.

🌟 12th Grade – Willow Johnson
Willow is a quiet but kind leader who leads by example. She is an avid volunteer within our school and the greater community, and is known for being diligent, intelligent, and incredibly talented. Willow’s steady commitment to helping others makes a lasting impact.

🌹 Burney Pride Shines Bright! 🌹

Former BHS student Jaiden Ford was been selected as the youth representative to walk in the 2026 Rose Bowl Parade with the Lions International float; what an incredible honor!

Jaiden was named California Leo of the Year in 2023 and is currently studying at San Jose State University, majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry. She also comes from a proud Burney educator family: her dad, Bill Ford, is a longtime math teacher at Burney High School; and her mom, Joy Ford, is a longtime teacher at Burney Elementary.

Congratulations, Jaiden! We love seeing our graduates shine and represent Burney so well. 💚💛

Burney High School is proud to dedicate the 2025 Burney Holiday Jamboree to Amanda Tate. For over 20 years, Amanda has served our school as a teacher, coach, volunteer, and unwavering supporter of students and athletics. From the classroom to the concession stand to the scorer’s table, her dedication, warmth, and leadership have shaped generations of Burney students. We are proud to announce that Alicia Gemmill has been selected as a winner in the Piece by Piece: I Choose to Be Drug Free Art Contest! Out of more than 300 impressive submissions across Shasta County, Alicia’s creative and impactful artwork truly stood out. Through her art, she powerfully showed how individual choices, made piece by piece, can build a healthier future.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Alicia. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see how you continue to use your talent to make a positive impact in our community! 💚🎨

Hannah is a hardworking student who diligently maintains a 4.0 GPA. In addition to serving as a class officer, she is a dedicated teammate in Jr. High Volleyball and Jr. High Girls Basketball. She strives for excellence in everything she does and is actively involved in her class, 4-H, and athletics. Way to go, Hannah!

🌟 Jorden Sell
Jorden is mature, hardworking, and always displays great manners. He is a positive role model to his classmates and underclassmen, participates in three sports, and is involved in many activities on campus. Jorden consistently strives to do his best in all subjects and works hard to maintain his strong GPA. Fantastic job, Jorden!

Hat Creek Construction has generously provided Burney High School students with a Catipillar D6 Dozer , giving our Heavy Equipment students a unique, hands-on learning opportunity in a real-world, industry-relevant setting. Through this invaluble partnership, students will engage in experiential learning as they operate and maintain machinery of this scale, building both technical competencies and career-ready skills. Over the coming months, learners will immerse themselves in authentic workforce training, gaining practical insights into the daily responsibilities of a heavy equipment operator while strengthening problem-solving, safety awareness, and applied knowledge that align with industry standards.
