Saturday School will be offered the second and fourth Saturdays at BHS from 8:00 - 12:00 noon. This is an opportunity students can use as a time to catch up on work on which they may be behind. The first Saturday School at BHS commences on October 11.

Students or parents must notify the school office by 3:00 pm on Thursday that they will be attending Saturday School. Students must bring their school work to complete; enough to cover the entire time.

There will be a Grab-and-go breakfast available. Lunch is not provided.

Saturday School may be used by students to make up their absences. The time spent at Saturday School, or four full hours of Homework Club, can offset a day of absence including unexcused absences that placed students on the NOPE List.

Continuation students may attend. Students from Burney may attend Saturday school at Fall River and visa versa. (It will be offered the first and third Saturday at FRHS.)

Congratulations to the Lions Club September Senior of the Month, Victoria Jimenez! Victoria is challenging herself with the most rigorous classes offered. She works diligently to keep her grades up, she plays three sports, and is involved in many clubs on campus. Victoria maintains an even-keel demeanor that makes her approachable and a good role model for other students.

Raiders, a quick reminder about two simple things that really make a big difference for all of us: how we dress and how we use our devices.

First, when we dress appropriately, we set ourselves up for success. The way we present ourselves shows respect—for ourselves, for our classmates, and for our learning. When we come to school dressed ready to learn, we’re saying, “I take my education seriously, and I’m ready for the day.”

Second, electronic devices like phones can be a huge distraction. We all know how tempting it is to check a notification or scroll for just a minute, but those minutes add up, and they take away from our learning and connection with each other. That’s why we keep devices put away—so we can focus on building skills, friendships, and experiences that will truly matter in the long run.

At Burney High, we want everyone to feel confident, focused, and prepared. Dressing for success and keeping devices put away are simple ways we can all contribute to a positive, distraction-free learning environment.

Thank you, Raiders—let’s keep working together to make our school the best it can be!
